Astral Blanco Tequila

Astral Tequila is a sustainability-focused brand owned by Diageo, originally founded by Master Sommelier Richard Betts. The brand’s identity is centered on the concept of being "nourished by the sun and stars," using 100% Blue Weber Agave. Astral differentiates itself through a circular production process: after using a traditional tahona wheel to crush the agave, the leftover fibers (bagazo) are upcycled into adobe bricks in partnership with Habitat for Humanity to build homes in Jalisco, Mexico. This mission-driven approach, combined with a 2022 "refresh" that lowered the proof to a more accessible 80-proof, has positioned it as a "tequila that does good" while offering a bright, citrus-forward profile.
