Description

Ocho Plata Tequila is a vibrant expression of pure Blue Weber agave, crafted to capture the fresh, lively essence of Jalisco’s highlands. Its nose bursts with the crisp aromas of fresh agave, bright citrus, and white pepper, underpinned by a gentle herbal earthiness. On the palate, it delivers a clean yet layered profile, where sweet cooked agave meets hints of tropical fruit, fresh-cut grass, and a delicate mineral note. A subtle peppery lift adds brightness, leading to a crisp, refreshing finish that lingers with natural agave sweetness and herbal freshness. Perfect for pairing with lime-marinated ceviche, grilled shrimp with chili-lime butter, or fresh guacamole, it also shines alongside Baja-style fish tacos, citrus-roasted chicken, or grilled mahi-mahi with mango salsa. For cheese lovers, it complements fresh goat cheese, queso fresco, and young manchego, and it finishes the experience beautifully with desserts like key lime pie, coconut panna cotta, or tropical fruit salad.

About Ocho Tequila

Tequila Ocho is a premium, single-estate tequila brand created by Carlos Camarena, a third-generation master distiller, and Tomas Estes, the official Ambassador of Tequila to the European Union. What sets Ocho apart is its focus on terroir—each vintage is produced using agave harvested from a single field, with every bottle labeled by the field name and harvest year. This approach, rare in the tequila industry, allows drinkers to experience how soil, climate, and geography influence the flavor of the spirit.

The agave used for Ocho is grown in the highlands of Jalisco, where cooler nights and mineral-rich red soil produce sweeter, more aromatic plants. Harvesting is done only when the agave reaches full maturity, often after seven to ten years. Distillation takes place at La Alteña Distillery, using traditional methods including slow cooking in brick ovens, natural fermentation, and careful pot still distillation to preserve the plant’s natural character.

Ocho is celebrated among tequila connoisseurs for its purity, complexity, and transparency in production. Each expression—whether Plata, Reposado, or Añejo—is crafted to highlight the unique characteristics of its agave source, making it a true “vintage” tequila and one of the most respected names in the category.
