About 1800 Tequila

1800 Tequila is owned by the Beckmann family (who also own Jose Cuervo) and is named after the year tequila was first successfully aged in oak casks. Launched in 1967 as the world's first premium sipping tequila, the brand is famous for its iconic trapezoidal bottle—a design inspired by the ancient Mayan stone pyramids found throughout Mexico. Produced at NOM 1122 in Jalisco, 1800 is a "Super-Premium" pioneer, maintaining a 200-year-old recipe and using 100% Blue Weber agave grown in volcanic soil.
